As you can see we went through several logo designs (6
of the 10 I could recover are shown here). The direction was building materials
for the next century of homes. Quick, strong, innovative.
The client found most of the treatments too busy or too
neo. The bottom left was chosen with a "few small changes." Before
I knew it, it became a house. The elongated S shape was cut from "expansive
and growing" to "stable." The roof and chimney were added,
though I tried in vain to just add a roof-like shape.
The font? BattleStar Galactica from the late 1970's. It
worked since the innovative structure is a wall building beam of metal...
Personally I liked the interlocking blocks of the upper
right and the intercut typeface and the upward arrows (roofs?) of the middle
left. Cool clean and mirroring the actual product's shape.
