Gallery of Artwork Produced by Dye Printing

6"x 9" Full-color cover, and interior pages designed and printed for Ambassador-Emerald.

Several book covers were designed and submitted in slightly unfinished formats before this one was chosen. A few clip art photos from the Holy Land were combined using PhotoShop. The scalloped edges were created with a layer mask and one of those rough brush heads. To get the angles right all the way around the photo was rotated as the layer mask was "bitten into." The parchment background was faked using Render Clouds in PhotoShop. The text was laid out in FreeHand, imported, and adjusted for color. The glow was done by duplicating the layer, adding a thicker stroke, blurring it with Gaussian Blur, and duplicated again. Transparency was messed with a few times before it looked right. I didn't want the prepackaged filter, so by creating the thicker version, the blur held more of its shape.

The font, Nueva, was used throughout the lay out of the book to add some cohesiveness.
